Hand Surgery

Our hands are vulnerable to a number of different injuries that can limit their ability to function, including lacerations, fractures, burns, cysts, and masses. Some of these injuries happen as a result of being active or playing sports and others from accidents that happen at work, behind the wheel of a vehicle in a crash, or around the house. No matter how your hand injury happened, Woodlands Hand to Shoulder can provide the surgical procedure you need to get your hands back to normal health with minimal time needed to heal.

Dr. Kobza and Dr. Buczek are trained to handle hand surgery for fractures, lacerations, tendon tears, burns, cysts, and masses. We can also provide finger surgery for a painful finger condition such as a fracture or laceration. There’s no need to live with constant pain in your hands and Woodlands Cosmetic & Hand Surgical Associates can see to it that this will no longer be an issue with you. Contact our team for a consultation on our hand surgery treatments.

Wrist Surgery

Wrist injuries can often have traumatic consequences, include fractures, tendon tears, and lingering issues that can last for years if your wrist condition is not treated properly. Dr. Kobza and Dr. Buczek and the team at Woodlands Hand to Shoulder can provide wrist surgery treatments to repair structures in your joints (with help from an arthroscope) as well as treat damage to ligaments, cartilage, and bone. The doctors may also treat wrist pain through joint injections for long-lasting relief. Our wrist surgical procedures can treat fractures, lacerations (skin/tendons), burns, cysts, and masses.

In addition, we offer minimally invasive “no suture endoscopic carpal tunnel release,” an approach handled through a very tiny incision in the wrist to relieve pressure on the nerve that causes numbness, tingling, and pain throughout the arm, hand, and fingers. Contact Woodlands Hand to Shoulder for a consultation on any of our surgical procedures.

Elbow Surgery

Elbow surgery through Woodlands Hand to Shoulder is available to treat the nagging pain and ongoing discomfort that’s associated with tennis elbow. Woodlands Hand to Shoulder can offer arthroscopy for your elbow to repair, reconstruct, or replace ligaments, tendons, and joints. We also provide fracture surgery for painful elbow fractures.

WALANT Surgery

There is a way for minor hand surgery procedures to be provided without the use of sedation or general anesthesia that requires a day at a hospital or surgical center. Woodlands Hand to Shoulder offers WALANT surgery, which is completed using local anesthesia only. WALANT is an acronym which stands for wide-awake local anesthesia, no tourniquet. This treatment involves the use of lidocaine with epinephrine, which helps to increase the effectiveness and extend the duration of the local anesthetic. This allows hand surgery to be completed quickly in a doctor’s office and helps to control the amount of bleeding during the procedure.

Woodlands Hand to Shoulder provides WALANT surgery for the following uses:

  • Ligament Repair
  • Joint Replacements in the Fingers
  • Peripheral Nerve Procedures at the Wrist and Elbow
  • Tendon and Soft Tissue Procedures in the Elbow, Forearm, Hand, and Wrist

The advantages of having WALANT surgery done are that patients can recover quicker without the potential side effects or complications that come from using sedation or general anesthesia. Contact Woodlands Hand to Shoulder today to learn more about our quick and convenient WALNUT surgery procedures and how they can benefit you.
